Frequently asked questions
SpoorBase brings insider trading, congressional disclosures, institutional holdings, buybacks, and share-count changes onto one timeline alongside the stock price or financial multiples. It is built to help you understand whether you are investing with smart money or against it, so you can spot meaningful changes in ownership and activity without stitching together multiple sources.
It shows you what the people closest to a company, and the investors with the most resources, actually did with their money. One transaction on its own rarely means much. SpoorBase puts insider trades, fund positions, congressional disclosures and buybacks on the same timeline as the stock price, so you can see when several of them point in the same direction and decide whether you are investing with that money or against it.
SpoorBase covers U.S.-listed equities and the public filings associated with them. Insider coverage includes officers, directors, and 10% owners; institutional data comes from managers filing 13F reports; and congressional data covers members of both the House and Senate. Historical depth depends on the availability of public filings, so newer companies will naturally have less history than long-established public companies.
Insider Form 4 filings are typically available on SpoorBase within minutes of appearing on SEC EDGAR, and U.S. insiders generally must report transactions within two business days. Congressional disclosures can be filed up to 45 days after a transaction, and SpoorBase shows the reporting lag on each record. 13F holdings are reported quarterly and can be filed up to 45 days after quarter-end. Buyback and share-count data follow the company's quarterly filings. Stock prices are shown on an end-of-day basis.

No. SpoorBase is an investment research tool that organizes and analyzes publicly available data. Nothing on the platform is a recommendation to buy or sell a security. Filings may be amended or restated, and material information should always be verified against the original filing before making an investment decision.
